Study: Hotter the Woman, Greater the Chances For Unprotected Sex

Having unprotected sex isn’t only affected by the current mood of the partners or on the availability of a condom, a recent study concluded that if a man considers the woman to be ‘hot’ he is very less likely to use a protection as, according to the men, the pleasure is affected.

This research led by Anastasia Eleftheriou, a graduate student in computer science at the University of Southampton in England was carried out to understand the relationship perceived attractiveness and condom use intentions in a heterosexual male population between ages 18 to 69.

In the study, 51 men were provided with 20 photographs of different women and were asked to estimate three things. First; how hot do they reckon the considered woman, second; how likely is that the concerned woman has a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) and third; if they will use a condom while having sex with the concerned woman.

Based on their answers it was found out that the more the attractive a man considered a woman to be, the less likely it was that he would intend to use a condom during sex with her. Moreover, even when the man considered the woman to have a STI, he still emphasized on unprotected sex.

What’s more is that, the risk of unprotected sex even goes higher if a man considers himself to be attractive. The more attractive the participant judged himself to be, the less likely he was to intend to use a condom.
