Mirzya is easily one of the best movies of 2016 and from the trailer itself the movie should be awarded for the following categories: costume design, cinematography, set design. All this because the visuals are simply stunning and compel you to go to the theatre to engage in the narrative. Considering the compelling part the director should also be given a lot of credit because he has managed the attract the audience into this artistic brilliance which otherwise would be and it is the same old Indian love epic where two people fall in love for each other and they fall in love for each other because they cannot be together and in the end die. To die in love is the greatest and only conclusion of any love story. The poster itself portrays it. I could easily predict from the poster of Ishaqzaade itself, two very brave and lion like charisma and immense passion in their eyes for each other. Do you end such a movie with both of them eloping successfully and living happily ever after without any relationship struggles. Hell no. Kill them!!!!!!!!!! (until and unless it was DDLJ which had to cut of the violence to make it a family movie so that huge Indian families could move in too contributing to the audience).
However just in case you were curious enough to wonder as to why all Indian love epics have the same formula of lovers meeting in secret and causing great havoc and running away and witnessing death in the process, it is because all love stories from ancient Indian history(Heer Ranja. Sohni Mahiwal, Sassi Punnun,Momal Rano, Umar Marvi,Lila Chanesar,Noori Jam Tamachi and Dhaj, Ror Kumar) have followed the same script in their ancient real lives. Check out any great love story it has followed step by step and piece by piece the same chapters which have now become to love stories what Newtons laws is to physics. And it is not always the depraved boy who falls in love for the classy chic, in the story of “Sassi Punnun“ you will come across a prince who falls in love with a washermans daughter and is unable to reclaim his love because of the family laws. What a shame.
The other thing that all of these love stories teach us is that all sagas begin with the presence of an external beauty just so mesmerizing that even with someone having ADHD to its highest level would be blown away of his thoughts and would feel each and every mille second with such in front of his eyes. Beautiful faces and beautiful curves are the inception of every love saga because it is only the magnitude of divine beauty someone can acquire the mad courage to live for the love or else die in the pursuit of achieving it. It is only in the marvel of a beautiful face that even with the wealth of a kingdom the kings are still not satisfied and go further to the point of bloody wars to accomplish what they could not accomplish even with so much wealth and royalty. Hopefully the world is more civilized now and all curiosities and anxieties end up today with some privacy and porn. Otherwise in such a regressive notions of love that day where women were rare let alone erotic curiosities, all anxieties and adolescent desires of men and women went unfulfilled and accumulated to the point that they had the courage to face getting beaten to death.
Besides you would also be wondering that all brave ventures taken in the cost of love have resulted in death right. Well do you really think the lovers who succeeded in eloping would spread the word around to their localities and arrange slumber parties for the feat? No they were couples who ran away to other quite places of the earth, drank wine together and lived in with secret identities ensuring all possible methods not to let out their background story which would make a great epic but again result in shameful death since the word would spread like wildfire. And they won’t even tell this story to their kids ever because kids are stupid and talkative and it would a matter of time when the kid would die because they could not kill his parents who were successful in their love quest.
