5 types of friends you need in your life

Do you know that people without friends die early? It's not an assumption but a fact. To increase your chances of living a long happy life, having some good friends won't just be enough. You need well-rounded and diverse friends who will be there for you when you need them. The following five types of friends are just what you need to keep the doctor away.

1. A Loyal Best Friend.

A loyal best friend is the one you need the most. It helps keep you sane. A non-judgemental friend is what everyone needs. This kind of friend respects all your deepest and darkest secrets, but still loves you for who you are.

2. A daring adventurer.

In this world that are so many places to go, people to meet and new experiences to have. Most of us never get out of our daily routine and are stuck forever. An adventurous friend is what is needed here. This friend will pull us out of our comfort zones, our shells and introduce us to the unknown world.

3. A Wise Mentor.

A wise man once said “ Never look down on someone unless your helping them up.” If you have someone who inspires others and helps in need you are one of lucky ones. Everyone needs a person who inspires them and helps them to be better people. Being in the company of them will help us be more positive about our lives. This mentor need not be your colleague or close friend but can also be someone older than you who has gained experience through their age.

4. The Carbon Copy..

We all love to be in company with friends who share same interests and beliefs as us. We hate those who have different beliefs and we call them as outsiders. But this can be very bad for our growth. If you only develop friendships with people who are of the same opinion as you, chance are you will be detached from the other world. Instead of being in company with like-minded people all the time, go out of your shell and befriend those who are polar opposites of you. By doing so, you would open yourself up to different world views and you would learn to be more tolerant.

5. A Work Pal.

If you do a full time job, you spend 50% of your waking hours at work. This can sound very depressing. And if you don't have a work pal and you are completely isolated, chances are you will be more depressed. So a work pal is one who might save your depression at work. A small chat near the water cooler or so can be a huge benefit to your working life. The work pal doesnt have to be your best friend. And if you do make best friends together then you are lucky.
