There are so many cities all over the world. So many places to see, in order to see them all, an indefinitely world tour has to take place .But that is not possible, so today here we will explore some of my most favourite cities. Each city has its own beauty laced with emotions; all of them have a special place in my heart.
1. Paris
Paris the capital of France, City of Lights, is quite popular among tourists. Paris has it all from industries to fashion to culture. It may sound cliche or it may sound overrated too but the beauty of Paris enthralls me, puling me like a magnet. Many consider Eiffel Tower as the most popular destination within Paris but for me, the Louvre’s art is far more exquisite. The Palace of Versailles takes us back to the days of French Revolution and the cafes gives us the perfect place to have alone time, cuddled up with a book. For the shopaholics and fashion lovers, Paris is the home of Christian Dior. Also Gossip Girl’s Serena and Blair give ample justification, as to why Paris is considered one of the most fashionable cities of the world. At night nothing can be compared to the lights of Eiffel Tower. One mustn’t forget about the catacombs which runs underground creating another strange world altogether.
2. Rome
Rome, city of Romance. The sensuality, the rustic edges gives a mysterious feel to Rome, its’ almost like love is always in the air, partly the blame goes to the movie ‘When in Rome’, being a sucker for romance, one could imagine why Rome comes into this list. Apart from this the Colosseum brings traces of history, many great people have their footsteps engraved on the stones of Rome, and there was Julius Caesar, Constantine and many more. The Basilica manages to draw the art lovers and religious people together from all over the world. The several museums, Vatican churches have their own charm. Food lovers across the world visit Rome in order to have a taste of authentic Italian dishes. A glass of Italian wine and a long stroll in the piazzas can make you forget all your troubles.
3. London
We Indians have slightly complicated feelings towards London; we have so much connected history you see. London is the home of the British empire, the people who once colonized us. Times have changed and today London to an Indian is totally different. London is one of the fashion capitals of the world also it is home of Thames river. In order to get a full view of the city, a visit to the London Eye is must. Madame Tussauds’ wax figures will give you a glimpse of your favourite celebrities. London is also the heart of a number of museums. A boat cruise in Thames River will calm your mind. Another chief attraction at least for me is the 93/4 platform of Kings Cross station, which I am sure a lot of Harry Potter fans agree with. Also the people of Kolkata should see the original Big Ben which inspired the huge clocks placed throughout the city.
Well these were few of my favourite cities around the world, what is yours?
