Some of these are so dangerous that people have even lost their lives because of the terrifying turns or because of being too thin or even because of the sheer weirdness which you won’t find in normal roads. 1. Atlanterhavsveien

In English, this word actually means â€œAtlantic Ocean roadâ€ located on the coastal edge of Norway. Stretching over 8 kilometers, the road is built on several small islands which are near to each other. Drivers and passengers are able to see the dark and deep ocean right beneath them which continuously creates waves which often hits the road increasing the chances of being swept by water.

2. Eshima Ohashi Bridge

Only about 1.5 kilometers long, this bridge is one of the steepest roads in the entire world located in Japan. The inclination is constructed so steep so that fishing boats and ships can travel easily beneath. It doesnâ€™t matters if youâ€™re driving up or down, the threat is similar either way as maneuvering the acceleration and brakes turns out to be a tedious act since they both have to be constantly used.

3. The Himalayan Road

Deemed as the highest road in the entire world, this one is located at a height of 3500 meters above sea level. Moreover, the road is one lane, siding with the mountains of Himalaya and is basically filled with dirt and rocks without proper maintenance. As if driving on mountainous was not so hard already, this road tops it all with crazy cuts and turns located throughout the road.

4. North Yungas Road

Nicknamed the â€œDeath Roadâ€, this road has become the sole reason for 200-300 deaths of people travelling to the Amazon region from Bolivia. The 68 kilometers stretch is covered with numerous crosses signifying the people who died as a result of falling off of the road. It has even earned the title of the â€œmost dangerous roadâ€ in 1995 by the Inter-American Development Bank.

5. Passage De Gois

Located in Franceâ€™s Atlantic coast, this stretch of road appears as a normal road on the outer side, but the reason that makes this road dangerous is that the water above which the road is constructed often consumes the road resulting in the disappearance of it. On an average basis, this road is consumed by water 2 times a day. Although the road can still be driven upon but only by a skilled driver because of the slipperiness caused by the water.
