Lets Go Trekking...

What to do when you have never been on a trek before but you had always wanted to explore the hills, experience green meadows and walk through beautiful paths carved between the hills just for you.
To start with, you need to understand what is trekking all about. Trekking is a passion, its a dream, its a goal to achieve, to explore different parts of nature and its belongings.
To trek is to walk but not like your usual morning or evening walk nor like a walk in the market or on the streets, but it is an enthralling one where you experience high altitudes requiring lot of strength and stamina.
To start with always go with ‘ Easy Trek’ , Easy treks are those which do not involve much height and are less stressful too. You only need to walk 4-5 kms in a day when you do such treks. A good example of an easy trek is Chopta Chandrashila Trek.
Chopta Chandrashila Trek is an adventurous year round trek where you walk the snow trails and live in beautiful camp-sites with the most picturesque backdrops.
Then comes the ‘Moderate Trek’. Moderate treks will need little stamina involves crossing some terrains, you need to walk for 5-6 hours in a day and the conditions become a bit tough. The best moderate intensity trek is the Hampta Pass Trek.
Hampta Pass trek takes you to the majestic foothills of the Great Himalayas and during this trek you will get see extraordinary species of Himalayan birds and flowers.
Then the Hard trek will catch your eye after you become a pro in the easy and the moderate treks. Hard treks as the name suggests will take you to deep gorges and high inclines, you will face some rough weather too. These treks require you to walk for long hours everyday.
To do these kinda treks you need mental strength more importantly. The Everest Base Camp is a perfect example of a Hard trek.
After you decide on the place to trek you need to prepare yourself for one. Make sure you have enough stamina for the trek. You have to make your legs strong and they should have maximum strength. Start by going for walks . If you are enrolled at a gym go for cardio and muscle training. Do shoulder and back exercises too as you have to carry weights on your back.
Another important point is to give up on smoking. As you climb high altitudes your lungs will be at work so please don’t spoil them by smoking. So what are you waiting for ? Go pack your bags and head to the beautiful mountains.
