Canada has decades older links with our country, India. A place like that needs to be visited as it not only provides us with many exotic attractions but also we feel something like home while strolling on the streets as it is a home for many Indians as well.

1. Weather that is out of the world, literally

Being quite close to the north pole, the average winters here provide a freezing cold with a temperature of -14.4 degree C, generally in the months of January and February. Moreover, a mind-boggling temperature of -63 degrees C was recorded in the year 1947, in a small village named, Snag. Notably, this recorded temperature actually matches the surface temperature of Mars!


2. A size that does matter

Canada is so big that it can even consume the entire European Union. To put that in perspective absorb this, Canada is 33 times bigger than Italy, 15 times bigger than France, 30% larger than the entire continent of Australia and three times bigger than our country which is the 2nd most populated one in the entire world!


3. Nearest inhabited place to the North Pole

This actually explains why it’s so cold. Just 817 kilometers away from the north pole, you can find the nearest settlement of humans to the north pole; Alert, a weird name huh? Well perhaps they named it so as it’s also one of the coldest places which inhabit humans, with a highest temperature ever recorded to be at 3.5 degrees C. A blissful escape for us, Indians.


4. Even countries are smaller than its National Parks

What?? Yes, you read that right. Canada is so big, that too without a lot of population, that much of the land is covered-up with forests (10% of the whole world), lakes (18% of world’s fresh water lakes) and National Parks! The Nahanni National Park Reserve with a whopping land of 30,050 square kilometers is bigger than Albania and Israel and what’s more is that the Wood Buffalo National Park is bigger than Denmark and Switzerland with a land of 44,807 square kilometers.


5. Coastline 4.5 years long!

Canada has the longest coastline in the entire world with no country nearing it in measure. It is even speculated that if you walked continuously without a second of stopping, it’ll take you 4.5 years to cover the entire coastline. Numerically, it has 2,02,080 kilometers of the entire 3,56,000 kilometers of the world’s all oceanfront property.
