What Disney life is really like?

The 90s kids are the biggest sufferer of the decline of Disney Channel show content. The early 2000s were a bliss to many of us as we grew up in terms of dream building. I personally started craving for the singer life and today I am professionally thinking of it.

Oh, how we miss our favourite shows by the famous Hollywood artists like Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana), Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place), Dylan and Cole Sprouse (Suite Life of Zack and Cody), Jonas Brothers ( The Jonas Brothers Show), Demi Lovato (Sonny with a Chance) and many more teen icons of the time.

The famous singer living two lives, two kids making all sorts of hilarious nuisance in a hotel, a wizard family living a normal life, a normal girl getting the biggest chance of her life, all these have made our mind so open to possibilities and desires that we feel the very absence of it now as we have ended our teen life. There was a phase in my own life where I wanted to return to those times and dream again. But then I grew up, and reality hit me like a rock on my face like it did on the faces of my favourite actors.

Behind the tempting on-screen life, there was a rather fractious truth. Disney had a contract signed with these stars for a period longer than any other contract bonds made for child actors in television series. I’m taking about contracts which were no less than 10 years and for a kid it’s almost spending their entire childhood and growing up with the script of their show. Turns out, our favourite stars were all a victim of it and have decried about it. They have admitted it had really made it hard for them to step into the real life: away from their studio sets which became their second home.

“I didn’t know who I was anymore, when the show got over. I had lived as Hannah Montana for so long that being Miley Cyrus became a real challenge for me. It was almost as if my real existence was a character I had to play”, Miley Cyrus on being asked how it was after her career in Disney.

The teen favourite Selena Gomez too shared similar views though she wasn’t stuck in the same show for as long as Miley was. Their frustration was so real that they broke contracts with the producers and swore to never work with Disney again.

Is this the reality behind every on screen production? Scripted and coerce bondages.
