STUNTMEN’S- “SUPER HEROS” OF REAL LIFE…
Stuntmens are trained professional who performs a stunt as their career. They are also known as Stunt performer, Stuntwomen or Daredevil. They perform stunts used in a motion picture or television drama. Stunts seen in Movies and TV shows like Car Crashes, Falls from great heights, Drags (like tied behind the vehicle or horses), Various Explosions, etc are performed by these “SUPER HEROS”.
The competencies of a Stuntmen is Physical fitness, daring and acting skills. Their fields of employment are Films, Television, and theatres.
In the early 1900’s to 1960 ’s, stunts were often performed by professional who had trained in that aspect prior to entering the Industry. Rather in current cinema and television stunt performers must be trained and certified by Stunt Performers Organization first, in a variety of disciplines like Martial arts, stage combat, etc. This is done in order to obtain the necessary insurance to perform on stage and silver screen. However, Perfectly Executed Performance often results in unplanned injuries to the stuntmen.
