Upcoming Bollywood movies in 2017 to keep your excitement going

Over the past few years Bollywood has grown as an industry and the quality of movies in terms of story, music, graphics etc. has improved drastically. 2016 has almost come to an end now and this year we saw some amazing movies like Udta Punjab and Pink which were addressing social issues. Biopics like M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Neerja etc. which showed us the unknown sides of the lives of famous personalities. Then of course there were many commercial mainstream movies like Fan, Ki & Ka, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil etc. which we blockbuster hits. And let’s not forget some offbeat movies like Airlift, Rustom and Raman Raghav 2.0 which were extremely entertaining. With just one month left in 2016 there are still a few movies like Dear Zindagi, Kahaani 2 and Dangal for which people are really excited.

Right now let’s talk about some of the upcoming movies of 2017 which look really promising. January 2017 will see Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees competing head to head on the box office as both the movies are scheduled for a Republic Day release on 26th January. On one side Kaabil is a modern day love story cum thriller in which Hrithik and Yami Gautam are visually impaired, on the other hand Raees has the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui  who have never let the audience down.  Then we have Jolly LLB 2, starring Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi , which is scheduled for a February release. Jolly LLB which released in 2013, starring Arshad Warsi, Amrita Rao and Boman Irani had an excellent story and a great performance by the actors but didn’t perform well at the box office. Now it will be really exciting to see Akshay Kumar playing the role of a lawyer after he has played the roles of an Army Officer in Holiday and Baby, a Naval Officer in Rustom.

From April to June we have movies like Jagga Jasoos, Noor, Half Girlfriend, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Tubelight scheduled for release. Jagga Jasoos will see Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif pairing up once again after Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani. Noor is scheduled for release on the same date as Jagga Jasoos and will see the likes of Sonakshi Sinha and Purab Kohli teaming up with Kanan Gill and Shibani Dandekar for this Comedy/ Drama movie. Then we have Half Girlfriend which is scheduled to be released in the month of May. Based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel Half Girlfriend which came out in 2014, this movie will see Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor together and iit will be really exciting to see if this movie will disappoint the viewers just as the novel did. In the month of June, the audience will get to see Toilet: Ek Prem Katha with the likes of Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar and later in the same month the “Bhaijaan” of Bollywood will star in Kabir Khan’s Tubelight. 2017 might also bring sequels to blockbuster movies like Judwaa and Aankhen with Varun Dhawan starring in Judwaa 2 and Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Illeana D’Cruz starring in Aankhen 2. Towards the end of 2017 the audience might be treated with another Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie, Padmavati, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. And let’s not forget a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will team up yet again for Ali Abbas Zafar’s Tiger Zinda Hai.

All these big budget Bollywood movies with a star studded line up for the entire year of 2017 but people will still be looking for the answer to just one question, “Katappa ne Baahubali ko kyun maara?” Yes, this question has been bothering people since they watched Baahubali: The Beginning in 2015 and in 2017 the audience will finally get an answer to this question. In the year 2017, no matter how many Bollywood movies release; the audience is not as excited for a Bollywood movie, as it is for Baahubali: The Conclusion. The larger that life Telugu blockbuster directed by S. S. Rajamouli starring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati and Tamannaah will finally give an answer to all the fan theories about why Katappa killed Baahubali and what will be the fate of Mahishmati and Bhallala Deva. With all these movies releasing in 2017, one thing that can be assured to the audience is that there will be full “paisa vasool” entertainment. It will be a great year not only for the celebrities, but also for the audience.
