This year’s Bollywood bopics ‘Sarbjit’ and ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ have found their spot on the long list of 336 feature films eligible for the Oscars. The list of films in contention for the best picture Oscar was released on Wednesday by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
To make it to the list of 2016 Academy Awards, the feature films must have been played in commercial theatres in Los Angeles County consecutively for at least seven days between 1st January and 31st December. The movies should be exhibited theatrically on 35mm or 70mm film or in a qualifying digital format and must have a run time of more than 40 minutes.
Apart from the Randeep Hooda and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer films, the list also includes ‘La La Land,’ ‘Moonlight,’ ‘Deadpool,’ ‘Suicide Squad’ etc.a
