Let’s say the rules of election in this country changed. Instead of a democracy it’s possible it could solely be based on sports. The parties contesting would be supposed to form their own sports team for every damn sport the country engages in. They need to train and provide all necessary facilities to all athletes and teams. Winning is the goal so they better find out athletes from each and every hideout in the country because they are many gems hidden. The parties will form their huge arsenal of sportsmen and a few days before the election a giant event of national election Olympics will be held and cricket will be a part of it too. People already have some affinity for sports and considering their love for politics and political competition it would hit the perfect faluda in the kulfi.

The purpose of the national election Olympics would be simple. The respective parties would contest their teams and players into competition and the party with the most medals count in the end win and gets to take over the ruling chair. Besides it’s either the Congress or the BJP only and at the end the citizen’s always end up having some complain or the other. At least this way if the spirit of the sports is not corrupted then the athletes would get the required treatment they need because they have a Neta’s hungry hand of victory on their backs. And instead of the usual party politics of pointing out discrepancies on the ruling party’s role they would be engaged in training their athletes for the next national election Olympics ceremony. The only risk would the sports world getting heavily corrupted but even if it is, the records and performances on the playground will reflect all.
