Famous celebrity and Friends star Jennifer Aniston and her husband Justin Theroux have made an announcement they have separated after less than three years of their marriage.

Aniston, 49 and  actor Theroux, 46, married in August 2015.

The couple in a joint statement said that, "We have decided to announce our separation, the decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year."

The statement showed no reasons for the split and according to the couple they wanted to keep their separation private but chose to speak out in order to reduce media speculation.

The statement also said, “We are two best friends who have now decided to part ways as a couple but we look forward to continue our cherished friendship. Normally we would have done this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly”.

Jennifer Aniston’s first marriage to superstar Brad Pitt ended in a divorce 10 years ago. Aniston continues to be America's most popular celebrity and her private life is closely followed by celebrity media and fans.

Aniston and Theroux began dating in 2011 and got married in a secret ceremony at their Los Angeles home in August 2015 that took many of the guests and media persons by surprise.

Aniston has starred in many films including the hit tv show ‘FRIENDS’ which made her a star globally. Friends and fans weren’t behind to show various opinions on the news on social media.
