Zayn Malik revealed it through a note on twitter, Zayn wrote that Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship. I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi Hadid as a woman and as a friend. She has such an incredible soul, I am grateful to all our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time. We wish this news to have come from us first and we love you all.

Gigi Hadid also confirmed the breakup through Twitter and wrote that, breakup statements often seem personal as there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years..not only in a relationship but also in life in general, I am forever grateful for the love, time and life lessons Zayn and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and I will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for. As for the future, whatever is meant to be will always be.
