Bollywood really sucks at copying. Vast examples are present in Bollywood where it has imitated Hollywood in order to excel and stand out just like Hollywood in terms of their technology, high picture quality, excellent drama, action, romance. Some of their attempts have succeded whereas others failed. But their cheating has been caught some way or the other by the audience.
Not only Bollywood has copied Hollywood movies but also their movie posters. Bollywood movie poster of RA-ONE is copied from Hollywood movie poster of BATMAN BEGINS (2005), ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA is copied from LORDS OF DOGTOWN (2005) , MURDER 2 is copied from TITANIC (1997).
Bollywood films and movie makers have always kept a keen eye on Hollywood and international films for getting an idea or drawing inspiration. Be it Hrithik and Katrina's BANG BANG which was an official remake of KNIGHT AND DAY or Sanjay Leela Bhansali's BLACK which had a plot very similar to that of a film THE MIRACLE WORKER.
Reality shows in India have been successful at fetching top points for all the channels they are aired in. But some of them are copied from the west. Reality show BIGG BOSS has been adapted from the Netherland based reality show named BIG BROTHER , JHALAK DHIKHLA JA is copied from DANCING WITH THE STARS, INDIA'S GOT TALENT is copied from AMERICA'S GOT TALENT.
Hindi song NEEND CHURAAYI MERI, sung by Anu malik is copied from SENDING ALL MY LOVE, TERA MUJHSE HAI PEHLE by R D Burman is copied from THE YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS, MEHBOOBA MEHBOOBA by R D Burman is copied from SAY YOU LOVE ME. Other than all this, Bollywood also copies Hollywood in the clothes they wear, their dances, their lifestyle. In order to become like the west, Bollywood is most of the time imitating Hollywood. It cannot be said that all movies and shows are copied but few of them are. Instead of copying, Bollywood should try to improve their own style and content of movies and other things and not try to compete with them. By copying Hollywood, Bollywood proves that Hollywood is worth copying and is far more better than Bollywood in every terms.
