Best live performances of all time

Best live musical performances of all time.

Whatever talent and creativity a Musician might display in studio, the ability to perform in front of a crowd of thousands is something that gives him a totally different recognition. Combined with the artistic display of the stage curators and technical expertise of engineering team a perfect stage event is truly capable of reviving a live person’s dead soul into someone who craves for every second to come during the performance. Here is a list of 10 such mesmerizing performances which at some point of time during the performance will surely make you wish if you were the artist himself.

(One important criteria for this list is the artists ability to make the audience with himself and not simply about performing songs oh very high musical abilities)

1.  Leave out all the rest-Shadow of the day- Iridescent- by Linkin park “Rock in Rio” Lisboa: One of the best bands of your generations and a high fan base in India itself, this particular performance shows the artistic genius of the group and totally succeeds in captivating the audience’s attention as if each one of them was a member of the band themselves. Also the simple start and best parts picked out from their greatest hits is combined into an emotional transcendence to happiness and joy.

2.  Godsmacks Drum Battle: The world has seen great drummers and great performances but Godsmacks drum battle is indeed one of the most unique and exhilarating drum acts of all time which will surely get your hands clapping and feet tapping with a different combination of beats and fills with each bar. It’s an act they perform it the same way in every live concert but the one performed in Denver on august 2012 was the best perfection wise.

3.  Voodoo Child by Stevie Ray Vaughan : Audience best react to beats and anthem like chorus of songs but this cover of Jimi Hendrix’s genius by the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan will tell you what’s rock and roll in the same way one realizes of love with his first crush. Easily the favourite song of every guitarist this version of Stevie has some additional solos from his own musical vocabulary and it’s the trance escape of guitar playing. Watch out for other songs in the same concert which are equally awesome but Voodoo child is just iconic.

4.  Hotel California Unplugged by the Eagles: The incredible guitar chemistry somewhere around the 80s had become the most iconic and recognizable songs until in the early 90s when the band gathered again for not so big concert which actually turned out an exhibition for the most soothing guitar performances of all time. Luck for those who got to see it for the first time in public (as evident from the sound of the audience who are silent as trees during the performances and towards the end your speakers blast out will the sound of applause levels higher than the music itself). In fact many in the present date don’t even know that there is an electric version of the song which is also the original.

5. Pirates of the Caribbean theme by David Garret: Although the orchestra plays a great contribution in this performance and orchestral performances were to be excluded because all orchestral performances are good but just when you hear the very recognizable Jack Sparrow tone and expect the player to step into the stage and makes a special entry from the audience space and plays his way to the stage. He also interacts and greats the audience and yet doesn’t miss a single fraction of a beat during the score. Also if you are more into violin performances then do check out SamvelYervinyans collaboration with Yanni which are equally great performances.

6. “Intro and Cant stop” Red Hot Chilli Peppers live in Rio: If the music at some point of the stage totally gets you into dancing as if no one’s watching, the music automatically qualifies for the category. RHCP is defiantly on of the craziest and honest bands on earth and it’s evident from its members getting berserk in the very first song itself. Tip hear the song Cant stop before watching the performance and then hear the live version.

7.  “FeuerFrie” by Rammstein live in Nimes: RHCP might be craziest but Rammstein is defiantly he most dangerous band in the world and every performance is a near death experience for the members as well as the audience who are in the risk of being stuck in stage chaos because the whole stage might explode if any mistake in the pyro technique. Saying this if the performance turns out to be a successful one with no casualties involved you can imagine the adrenalin overflow during the performance. The frontmanship the pyrotechnics and most of the heavy and grim voice of the singer is something no other band can or dare to come up with.

8.  “Paradise”- Coldplay live in Paris: First of all its Coldplay with their best sing a long songs of all time and then the concept and the visuals. This song might be number 3 on the list but its one of those songs that does not need a description. Just go and watch it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9. “Comfortably Numb” By Pink Floyd Pulse: Once again choices might vary but try to find a musician who has heard the song and not liked it. And the extended guitar solo is in my opinion the zenith of any musician display regardless of whatever might be your mode of communication. Listen to it with full concentration and tunes will emerging in your head without any effort.

10. “We will Rock you” By Queen Live in Wembley: A huge stadium jam-packed with people and 4 people on stage along with that one singer. Watch the performance and you will know why Freddie Mecury is regarded as the God of rock.
