Why do we need phones for?

To facebook our friends, tweet something, watch videos on youTube , google stuff, listen to music, e-mail, whatsapp, message each other and so on. The sole purpose of phone has been reduced to the purpose of ENTERTAINMENT. Despite increase in available political information and news related to the world through television and internet, the knowledge and awareness of people has not increased. Instead people use internet, social networking sites and especially phones for staying in touch with the so- called entertaining news. They want to know what happened in their celebrity's life but are not concerned with what happened to people of their own country or city. They are not concerned with what their state minister has done but are more concerned with where a famous bollywood star is dining with his girlfriend. People use smart phones to search for entertainment section but ignore the news , technology, business section which are much more knowledgeable than hot entertainment  news.

But not all prefer phones  solely for entertainment purpose. There are few who take advantage of abundant world news available on internet in their phones to become more knowledgeable. They are the one who make the correct use of phones. They remain in touch with both their society's happenings as well as entertainment. But there are others who take less advantage of available information and technology and thus are less knowledgeable and aware about their surroundings.

The advantages of the phone cannot be ignored. It does keep us in touch with some information or the other, whether it is important news or some entertainment stuff. But the same phones are responsible for increasing gaps  in knowledge between people who prefer news and people who prefer entertainment.
