Why Is Sleep Important ?

Getting a good night sleep plays an important role in your overall health and well-being. Getting the right amount of quality sleep at the right times can protect your mental health, physical health and quality of life

During sleep, your body is working to ensure healthy brain function and take steps to maintain your physical health. In children and teens getting a good sleep helps support their growth and development.
However if you are experiencing sleep deficiency it may raise your risk for chronic health problems and can affect how well you think, react and work. 

While you are in deep sleep your brain is preparing for the next day. It is busy  forming new steps for you to learn and remember information.

Studies prove that a good night's sleep improves learning and also increases your perfection in doing things. Sleep helps you pay attention, make decisions and do creative things as well.

Studies also show that sleep deficiency is linked to depression, suicide, and risk-taking behaviour, being sleep deprived makes you feel angry and impulsive, have mood swings, feel sad or depressed, or lack motivation

Sleep is involved in healing and repair of your heart and blood vessels too, sleep deficiency can increase risk of heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure ,stroke and diabetes plus also increases the risk of obesity. A recent study conducted on teenagers showed that with each hour of sleep they lost the risk of becoming obese immediately shot up.

Getting enough quality sleep at night helps you function well throughout the day and people who are sleep deficient are less productive in life. Thus the secret to your success in all aspects of life depends on good and quality sleep…so don’t stress just doze off !!
