Many of us have not come across or heard about the health benefits of Figs. Fig tree is a member of the mulberry family. The health benefits of figs comes from the presence of minerals, vitamins and fiber contained in the fruit. Fresh figs are lusciously sweet with a texture that combines the chewiness of their flesh, the smoothness of their skin and the crunchiness of their seeds.

Fig nutrition in the Muslim Holy Book called the tin fruit has many health benefits for the human body. Its latin name is Ficus Carica L is a type of plant that originated from West Asia. The fruit contains calcium, phosphorus and Vitamin C.

Fig includes good amount of dietary fibers which help to reduce body weight.


2. Healthy bones

Figs have good amount of calcium which helps to strengthen bones.


3. Prevents diabetes

Since figs are high in potassium, they help reduce Insulin. Daily consume figs with one teaspoon of honey to control diabetes. Fig leaves can be consumed for anti-diabetic properties.


4. Controls Indigestion

Consume 2-3 soaked dried figs with a tablespoon of honey to relieve Indigestion.


5. Prevents skin diseases

Applying baked figs directly on the skin brings down various forms of skin inflammation like boils and abscess. It also cures acne. It is often used as a moisturizer on the skin. Apply mashed fresh figs all over the face and let it dry for 15-20 minutes.
