Had Muslims not been amongst us we would have never had coffee or toothbrush”

Give dog a bad name and hang it, befits the global Muslim folk, because the untoward acts performed by some of their fellow religionist, brings a blot to their community as a whole.

The impact of the stain is enough to frame a common perception about the men from same community, tagging all of them as terrorists.

It’s true to say, a rotten apple brings rejection for all in the bundle. But, my friends, a rotten mind not always attracts its accomplice for the power of humanity is much larger than that of brutality.

Perhaps, unfortunately the terror comes from Islam, but all Muslims are not the cause. The innocent Muslims have to bear the brunt of the devilish- image created by their brothers.

The world fears them and wants to erase their existence. But, they are probably forgetting the contributions by the Muslims, which lay a reason for world’s existence. Indeed, the bad news owing to them, overpowered the good that they have manifested for the entire human race.

Had Muslims not existed, the world would have never progressed. Yes, if Muslims hadn’t been living with you, you’d have been living without- • Coffee • Cameras • Experimental Physics • Chess • Soap • Shampoo • Perfume/spirits • Irrigation • Crank-shaft, internal combustion engine, valves, pistons • Combination locks • Architectural innovation (pointed arch -European Gothic cathedrals adopted this technique as it made the building much stronger, rose windows, dome buildings, round towers, etc.) • Surgical instruments • Anesthesia • Windmill • Treatment of Cowpox • Fountain pen • Numbering system • Algebra/Trigonometry • Modern Cryptology • 3 course meal (soup, meat/fish, fruit/nuts) • Crystal glasses • Carpets • Checks • Gardens used for beauty and meditation instead of for herbs and kitchen. • University • Optics • Music • Toothbrush • Hospitals • Bathing • Quilting • Mariner's Compass • Soft drinks • Pendulum • Braille • Cosmetics • Plastic surgery • Calligraphy • Manufacturing of paper and cloth

The list seems to be not ending and so do their contributions and yet we believe in imagining a world without Muslims. Is it too much to acknowledge their significance? Perhaps their contribution is countless..... The concept that light enters eyes was discovered by a Muslim The first person to have tried flying was a Muslim even though the credit goes to Wright brothers. It was a Muslim by the name of Jabir ibn Hayyan who was known as the founder of modern Chemistry. Al-Jazari the father of robotics, the architect for Henry V's castle, the inventor of hollow needles to suck cataracts from eyes, were indeed all Muslims. To your surprise, it was Muslim who discovered the Earth was round, 500 years before Galileo did. The list goes on... Now can you imagine a world without Muslims, perhaps imagining a world without terrorists is what we mean! Don’t stigmatise a community whose members are also not spared when it comes to brutality by their fellow men. Imagining a world without terrorist would definitely remove the slush threatening the humanity. Somewhere, gratitude was all that they wished for, but suspicion, fear and neglect is all that in their fate.
