1. Inspiration

He used to play with scrap wood with his grandmother, on the floor. Drawn to the social issues, architecture is the Panacea for Cities futures. "For me it's a free association, but it grows out of a sense of responsibility, sense of values, human values. The importance of relating to the community, and all of those things..and the client's budget, their pocketbook, the client's wishes "

The beginning of his concept included a postmodern architecture which began in the 1980's. His design concepts departs from modernist style. We can see the basic philosophy function follows form in his architecture masterpieces. His style is highly defined in non-rectangular, distortion, fragments and manipulation styles in his fusion propagandas. Later over the years, he was highly influenced by French philosophers called Jacques Derrida, Daniel Libeskind, Christine and Horst Lechner and formed a style mainly abstract which incorporates movement in every direction possible. His every design highly emphasize the important obligatory interaction between space, people and building. The architect plays with light and it's reflection in his structures. One of the best attribution in his architecture unit he designed a functional building but with a sculptural twist. His design process begins with scribble sketches which then builds into a rough model out of a thick paper and for assistance pictures are taken to load to the computer from where with a 3D software ''CATIA", he gets the mid-rib of the design. This provides the detailed maths and physics of his design.

3. Some of his quotes

"Every building is by its very nature a sculpture. You can't help it. Sculpture is three-dimensional and so is a building" "I approach each building as a sculptural object, a spatial container, a space with light and air, a response to context and appropriateness of feeling and spirit. To this container, this sculpture, the user begins his baggage, his program, and interacts with it to accommodate his needs. If he can't do that, I've failed" In spite of changes in Gehry's design over the years, his approach to a building as a sculpture retains.
