We all know that with time we have grown and so has the thinking of the people. But still in some backward areas prostitution in considered as a TABOO.

What should we do? Should prostitution be legalized in India?

India is a diverse country with numerous cultures and beliefs. People believe that women are supposed to be in homes, do household chores and maintain the respect of the society. But still some women are indulged in prostitution to earn their living and are considered evil, dirty and wrong by these people. Is it wrong to earn your bread? Does the way you do it matter?

India is a vast country and it is true that we all need to respect its culture but there is a great doubt as today many women are indulged in this profession which is a great matter of concern. Women are exploited, raped, harassed and there is no measure for their safety and medical needs. All of this they do is to earn a living. I believe that if this gets legalized in a proper manner and proper act is enforced then crime rate is going to decrease, moreover, women can proudly call it their profession and government can keep a check on it. There should be proper rules and regulations like the age limit in order to enforce this thing. This will help out many people but along with this the same question arises that this is not the culture of India.

Yes this thing is a big TABOO, but there is not a simple answer to this either as it is exercised on a large scale as well as affecting the society to a great extent too. We surely need to find a solution to it so that the thinking and living standard of the people would improve and we could create a better economy.
