Look in the mirror and you see a mirror image. Actually, we see ourselves in reverse. Haven’t you held a letter up to the mirror; the writing appears in reverse.

Detectives have solved mysteries by obtaining the reverse of a blotting paper on which notes and letters have been absorbed. But when the Bible tells us that God created us in his own image and likeness, it means he made us exactly like himself. Yet pondering over our lives, I think we will find that we have not lived up to the wish of god, in being loving and good like him; but have become mirror images; we have reversed our features and qualities. Now we have to work or restore God’s original creation to become like him.

The other image we have to examine is our self image or the opinion we have of ourselves. This is created by the experiences we have had with others ; especially in childhood and adolescence. If those around us- parents, teachers, elders and friends- have been loving and encouraging, supportive and caring, then we will have a good self image, self confidence and personality. But if we have lived with criticism and harshness, then we have a poor self image- we are different, backward and afraid.

There is a cure, however. It has already been outlined for you ‘ You are unique….’ And chant the mantra “ I know I can. I know I will’ . Be your own best friend and also make friends that will build u up. Begin each day a new. Don’t let the past bog you down. After all the present in what matters, If you take the responsibility of your own life and forgive your past enemies , you can work marvels for yourself and strive to attain perfection and be in the likeness and image of god.
