You might not accept that you are addicted to Whatsapp but an introspection might give you the answer. How many times do you open your wats app? How many times you open it not to send or reply texts but to see someone’s last seen or the changed Display pictures? How many times you open it just to see whether the ticks have gone blue or not? Or above all addictions, how many times you open it just to check your settings and gaze endlessly at you own kept Dp and look at so deeply as if you are solving a murder case!
Its time to stop and undo all the stupid things you do on wats app and get over the undue addiction you have got over it. Take a break! Get over the madness for Whatsapp.
Start by simply fixing time to check your whatsapp in a day. Keep time slots fixed wherein youll open your whatsapp to send or receive all messages. A prolonged practice will even hint your contacts about the time they should drop or except a message back from you.
If you are strong enough to control the addiction, go for a day of wats app un-installation. Uninstall your whatsapp for one day and check how you feel. A day without whatsapp will actually make you realise other works you have in all the world, the day will seem longer and sense of duty shall be endowed on you. It would actually make you realise the extent to which you were dependent on it. A prolonged practice will teach you how to ignore the whistles, even if you have whatsapp installed. Re installing it after a long time would definitely make a lot of difference in the frequency with which you open the app.
Besides these extreme ways you can even go for switching off your mobile data or wifi options for the day and turning them on only for two to three hours in evening. However, this practice is feasible only when you don’t need internet for other research activities on your phone.
One other way to get relief from addiction is to mute your chat notifications or set no tune or vibration for the messages.
After all, where there is will there is way, if you want to get rid of the addictions you are nurturing, there are many ways for that, but if you are not ready yet, you won’t ever find a way out of it.
People, there were times when things worked out without these apps, there were no communication gaps, relationships were as strong as they are with wats app, in fact were more reliable in its absence. One can always go for a personal call or a SMS when things are urgent. Don’t let the excuses become source of your addiction!
