EMMA STONE FINALLY REVEALS THOSE SECRETS
The glamorous 28 year old La La Land actress always manages to charm us with her amazing acting skills and her beautiful features. She does seem bubbly and cheerful in all those interviews, doesn’t she?
But in the recent Rolling Stone Magazine Interview, she finally lifted the veil off the ‘experience’ section. She tells the Magazine how there were times when people did treat her differently than her male co-stars and that’s saying something, given how incredibly awesome she is! (Remember the Lip Sync Battle?)
The Oscar Nominated Actress further states that many a times, when she was about to give an opinion or idea or something, she was hindered in the process of it all. Eventually, she started to hesitate too, in giving out ideas.
WHY? Because she is a woman.
Indeed she says she can still remember how people would laugh at HER jokes and then ultimately, given the credit to the male co-star. Or how sometimes she would be the one saying ‘I really don’t think this line is gonna work,’ but they would probe her to tell anyway and would promise they could cut the line out if it wasn’t that great. But, in her own words, “and they didn’t cut it out, and it really didn’t work!"
Stone talked about how she has managed to control her anxiety problems that she grew up with since she was a child. She coped up with it by creating a useful little mechanism that helped her move on.
"I wrote this book called I Am Bigger Than My Anxiety that I still have: I drew a little green monster on my shoulder that speaks to me in my ear and tells me all these things that aren't true. And every time I listen to it, it grows bigger. If I listen to it enough, it crushes me. But if I turn my head and keep doing what I'm doing, let it speak to me, but don't give it the credit it needs – then it shrinks down and fades away."
Good, Emma Stone. This did help her in pursue her already very successful career. Just like she says, be present in the improv and that is the antithesis of anxiety.
Well, we never knew our Gwen Stacy, the Straight-A student had anxiety problems!
No doubt she nailed that problem down!
Cheers to Emma Stone!
