Better life choices, better brain health!

But brain is the most essential organ, as is the heart, much needed for survival of a living being on Earth. We perform all our actions under the supervision of master Brain. It is a kind of security check of, basically, what goes in and what comes out.
Thus, it's essential to enhance and keep in check one's brain health, for if brain is healthy, the body is healthy.

1. Diet: Maintain a healthy diet, watch your cholesterol intake and avoid fats known to kill health. Researches have revealed that a diet low in saturated fats and high in omega-3, vitamin E and lutein can protect brain cells and build good brain health.

Maximize your intake of DHA, an omega-3 fatty acid. DHA can be found in fatty fish, milk, eggs, yoghurt and supplements.
Eat a diet rich in Vitamin E, which can be found in milk, butter, eggs, oils, nuts and whole grains.
Lutein is a natural antioxidant that can be found in leafy green vegetables.

2. Bodily Health: Maintaining good physical health is closely linked to brain health.

Perform exercises on a daily basis for the peak of your health and keep daily stress levels out of your life.
It keeps cholesterol levels in check and maintains good blood flow in the body.

Ensure that you have a regular sleep pattern, an important aspect for a good brain health.

3. Be Social: Believe it or not, being social keeps your brain in good health as it keeps your brain working and develops your mental strength, unless it is stressful. A study showed that men and women with the most social interaction within their community had less than half the rate of memory loss as those with the least social engagement.

Continue social interaction at workplace or join social groups and NGOs.

Spend most of your time with your friends and family.
