ARE 21ST CENTURY GIRLS FREE? REALLY?

Freedom is something which everyone wants to enjoy be it an animal or humans. Each one of us is worth it and when it comes to girls, they are the ones who should have the privilege of freedom, without working endlessly for it. In this modern era where girls face lot of problems and are harassed by people, freedom gives them the right to raise voice for themselves, to express freely to people, to work independently and to be on top of everything. Mostly we see freedom is levied to boys and nobody cares what they do. They are saved from everything just because of this tag “Ladka Hai”. If a boy does anything wrong may be smoking or teasing a girl, nobody says a word to them. Why? Just because they are boys? Is this all? If a girl drinks, smoke, or talks to any boy and walks away with him she is said to be characterless and all fingers point out to her. Why? Just because she is a girl?

As far as I think, NO, girls are not at all free because they are still living in that society where people blame them for doing something. They are still not free to work late at nights, not allowed to marry a guy whom they want to marry (in some houses). In many villages and cities still, there are some societies which do not give freedom to girls who want to wear clothes of their choice or even going out of their homes. These instances are prevalent in states like Haryana, Rajasthan etc.

Girls need freedom to create their own destinies. From completing studies to their own personal decisions, all are their rights which nobody can snatch from them. Girls today are highly advanced. They need everything and yes they should get each and every opportunity which will make their future. As for parents, they should never stop their girls from taking any decision on their own, should listen to them and as a responsible parent should fulfill them. There is not a single field where you can find girls lacking behind be it medical, law, science, media and or even in business too these days. Girls are everywhere.

Freedom is like a necessity, and girls deserve to be free as they are no less than boys. Girls should have full independence to enjoy their life, visit places where they want to go, decide on their own about their future, free to ask or reason others as well as the biggest issue for girls has always been freedom of education and speech. They should not sit back quietly and stop being harassed. They should be able to deal with situations and its consequences. Freedom is important for girls and in return every girl should respect the freedom given to them.
