A well known poem opens with the lines; "I shot an arrow into the air, it fell to the ground; I know not where."
Aimless living is a frustrating experience. Like dry leaves we are blown hither and thither, taking up once this course and then another. There is no sense of fulfillment and contentment because there is no goal to achieve.
Achievers in every field - studies, sports, social service, music, even religion – set goals for themselves. Read the lives of great men and women in all of these fields and you will see that how much hard work and dedication was there to fulfill that one goal. There single minded concentration on a target, made them survive and overcome every obstacle in their paths.
Set a goal for yourself today and work towards achieving it with all the will power you have. Be purposeful and channelize your energy, instead of drifting aimlessly along. Put meaning into your life and you will experience true contentment.
