22% of Wi-Fi consumers in India admit to have used neighbours Wi-Fi without their permission.

Wi-Fi heard of it (wink!) , Wi-Fi as become a new hype creator among Indians these days. A recent survey reveals that only 56 % of Indian consumers of Wi-Fi are aware of determining whether the Wi-Fi network they are using is secure or not. According to the report by Norton Cyber Security states that 22% of respondents agreed that they use their neighbours Wi-Fi network without permission. Wi-Fi connection available in public places such as airports , coffee shops are been used by 27 % of respondents i.e. one in four regular user of Wi-Fi connection. Ritesh chopra , Country Manager of Norton by Symantec says “ our sample size in India was little over 1,000 and the age group was above 18 years “. Around 59% of the Wi-Fi users believe that making online transactions , accessing financial details online when connected to public network is riskier. Repetitive unsafe behaviour was seen from the victims of cybercrime within the past years. Approximately 64 % of consumer says that over past five years , it has become difficult for the users to stay secure online. India stands No 4 globally, prone to ransomware and stands No 2 in Asia. For safer browsing world , protect your accounts with strong password , Stay aware of pros and cons of public Wi-Fi , Do not get carried away when online.
