Regret is the pain that you feel for your past doings or about not doings. Sometimes, we are filled with different thoughts and feelings and sometimes regret takes over on all those feelings. To be precise there are two types of regrets, positive and negative. The positive one is the kind of regret in which you know that you did a mistake, you knew you were wrong and need to correct it. You feel sad about the thing you did and you try to change the mistake. The other kind of regret is negative. Wonder what is that? It is the type of regret in which you try to find your mistake even when you were right. You blame yourself for each and every thing that goes out wrong. You curse yourself for being yourself. In this kind of regret you try to change yourself rather than changing the mistake. To be honest, this type of regret is harmful and effects your health negatively. You should not allow yourself to feel this way. Positive regret is beneficial while negative regret is not. Avoid the thoughts of the latter kind of regret to enter your mind.
1. Steps to correct regret -
1 - Find your mistake. 2 - Apologise for it. 3 - Correct it, if possible, and do not repeat it. Usually we, as a human being, follow the first two steps but forget to implement the most important point i.e. third point - correct it, if possible, and do not repeat it. It will be of no use to find your mistake and accepting it if you repeat it in future too. It becomes crucial to not to recur the same thing that caused problems in your life or to another's life.
