Every day after returning from school she sets up the library for her students. She believes firmly Nelson Mandela's famous quote: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world".

She’s none other than the youngest recipient of the "Thought Leader” award by NITI Aayog, Muskaan Ahirwar. This nine-year-old girl stays in a slum in Bhopal. She encourages children to study, in her area with the help of 121 books she owns, provided by Rajya Siksha Kendra. Muskaan turned teacher for those 50 children who couldn’t afford education.

This third grade student aspires to become a doctor. She was awarded “Thought Leader” award appreciating her efforts and was received from wrestler and Olympic bronze medallist  Sakshi Malik, in Delhi on Friday.

"I am very happy. My parents and my friends are also extremely happy. I want to be a doctor in (the) future. I had started the library with 121 books...now I have many books. Now around 50 kids come here. I would like to invite the kids who do not come here and tell them to be something when they grow up," said Muskaan. "It's like a dream for me. I am very happy that my daughter is going to Delhi. I have never thought about it," Muskaan's father Monohar Ahirwar said.

Niti Aayog on Friday declared 12 winners of its 'Women Transforming India' campaign. The online campaign was launched on International Women's Day this year by NITI Aayog, in partnership with MyGov and the United Nations in India, to crowd-source stories of women who make a difference.
