Why your taste is music is totally flawed,unreal and biased?
In all ancient scripts you might have read so highly about music. Music is this and that and what not. It indeed is one of the greatest gift to mankind but back in those days with technology being so back dated and connectivity being so poor also, it was very common that many people specifically of working lower class backgrounds died without hear any actual song or musical composition. And if did do some eavesdropping around a “darbar” or some other elitist place it indeed sounded magical and hence the description in the ancient scriptures. But today where music is so instantly available the sound of music holds a totally different place in the lives of people.
First of all there is a market which understands the mentality of the people and knows how to make a song compatible with today’s trends. And people don’t have an independent taste. They will only like the music which everyone likes or else they feel left out with the trend. Music has become a trend rather than something spiritual. Everyone wants something added to their personality in return to the music they hear. And don’t you notice all music artists you seen in the music videos look incredibly desirable. That’s because the market picks artists based on their looks. Their music skills are secondary. True music fans after listening to a song of their honest choice would take some time out of their everyday routine and try to perform the song to themselves even if it’s inside their imagination. The market knows this and so they will pile your little bit of music with lots glitter and gold so that the fans end up talking, walking, dressing and styling like their favourite artist because singing or playing instruments isn’t their cup of tea. The fact that you love spend time with only yourself and your music is the single greatest symptom of the fact that you are liking your music unlike people who like to blast it out in their speakers to establish their presence or teens who wear headphones around their necks all the time because it might be trendy and dandy.
EDM and trance music is good at times but not all the time. Real Music can only be played with instruments or the instrument of your voice because with incoming emotions you can always improvise and the tune builds up itself. EDM does not strike your cognition in any sense because it is just a pile of sampled units synchronized with lights which is no doubt beautiful and a great release of energy but fun only if you are surrounded with a huge bunch of people. In your times of distress or loneliness it will want to make you shoot your speaker off to pieces. Orchestra and classical music still reigns and you don’t even know it. All those awesome scenes that you have seen in movies like rocky doing his workout towards the end or the final departing scene from dead man’s chest or sharukh khans character talking a sip of water that cost him a rupee in the rural station from swades and many more, rewatch it all without the background music and you will know what I am saying.
Music is real and indeed the greatest gift. Just try to close your eyes and listen to the music without keeping anything else in mind and you might feel like the richest person on earth.
