Two rapists punished by mob in Arunachal Pradesh

Crimes against girls are increasing day by day. All the states are victims of those kinds of heinous acts. Recently two rape accused were dragged out of Police Station and beaten to death by an irate mob in Tezu market area of Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Sanjay Sabar, 30 and Jagadish Lohar, 25, were migrant labourers of Assam and they were indicted of raping a twelve-year-old girl and then murdering her. The girl was from Namgo village under Wakro circle. She was missing from February 12, later her naked body was found in the tea gardens.

What is more disturbing is that, they were also involved in the rape and murder of a five-year-old girl child too.  According to the police the preparators have confessed their crimes.

The people of the area took law in their own hands and decided to punish the culprits themselves. An angry mob forcefully dragged out the accused out of jail and beat them to death in the Tezu market area.

Arunachal Pradesh's Chief Minister, Pema Khandu condemned this violent incident. Also, he had suspended three officers in this connection and the SP has been transferred.

Occurrences like this show that the common people have lost their faith in law and order and the safety of girls and women is a big question.
