Singer Daler Mehndi Convicted In Human Trafficking Case.

Famous Indian singer Daler Mehndi was sentenced to two-years in prison in a 2003 human trafficking case.
Daler Mehndi and his brother Shamsher along with their 2 associates Bulbul Mehta and Dyan Singh were charged for illegally sending people abroad by making them part of their dance troupes. For this service the two brothers charged those people huge amounts of passage fee. It was alleged that Daler and Shamsher took two dance groups to the USA in the years 1998 and 1999, and were charged for illegally dropping off 10 people posing as their troupe members.
However within minutes of the singer’s conviction he was granted bail by the Patiala Court.
Bakhshish Singh of the Patiala district in Punjab was the main complainant in the case which was registered in the year 2003. According to Singh, Daler Mehndi and his associates had taken money from him in 2003 to drop him off to USA but later failed to keep their words and didn’t return the money also.

Daler Mehndi is a famous singer and has given several successful songs in Bollywood. His famous hits include songs from movies like Dangal, Baahubali 2, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Flying Jatt, ABCD 2, Mirzya, Singh is King, etc. He is a well known name in the film industry.
