Rajasthan government passed a bill to hang and prison the rapists till death

Rajasthan Assembly on 9th March passed a bill that will see that the rapists of girls of 12 years or below will be sent to the gallows or death in prison and will ensure that the convict doesn't get out of the jail even after completing 14 years of the sentence, said Rajasthan Home Minister.

State Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria introduced the Criminal Law (Rajasthan Amendment Bill 2018) on Friday in the assembly. Earlier The Madhya Pradesh assembly on December 4, 2017, did pass the bill consisted the same content, called Dand Vidhi (Madhya Pradesh Sanshodhan) Vidheyak, 2017. The bill also proposes punishment for disrobing, stalking or sex on the pretext of marriage. The new amendment added sections 376-AA and 376-DD to the Indian Penal Code, 1860. This amendment states that the person who is doing so will be given a death sentence not less than 14 years or imprisonment until death. This action is taken after the data released by National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB), statistics show that Rajasthan recorded the 4,034 such cases in 2016. Rajasthan is at No. 4 in the crime against women category whereas Madhya Pradesh recorded the highest 4,882 cases in 2016 and ranked 1st. Even Haryana Government is planning to pass such amendment.
