Soman was born in Glasgow, Scotland. His family moved back to India and settled in Dadar in Mumbai in 1973. He started his career as Model and got a most significant role as Captain Vyom in the television world and earned the popularity. He played many roles in Movies too.
 
Soman had been in a relationship with Madhu Sapre with whom he later broke up. He met Mylene Jampanoi, a French actress, on the sets of their 2006 film, Valley of Flowers. The couple married in July 2006 at a resort in Goa. Milind and Mylene decided to part ways in 2008. The couple divorced in 2009.
Then he started dating Ankita Konwar, who was an Air hostess by profession.

Celebrations have begun for the Soman’s and Konwar’s since Friday 20 April 2018 and after the Haldi and mehndi, Milind Soman is all set to exchange vows with girlfriend Ankita Konwar in Alibaug on Saturday 21 April 2018. While the picture of the couple from the previous functions has been breaking the hearts of many female fans, the D-day is here and the venue is all set. The Haldi and Mehendi ceremonies were held yesterday, where the couple was seen in Assamese attire for the Mehndi function. Milind wanted to keep is wedding low-key and hence only a selected group of friends and family have been invited. In fact, most of the guest gathered in Alibaug yesterday. Guests stated that “The mehndi was a lot of fun, with Assamese, Hindi and Marathi songs being played in the background. Everybody, including the couple, had a great time dancing.” Ankita wore an off-white saree looking elegant in the attire, while Milind sported a Kurta Pajama. The entire decor was a mix of Assamese and Marathi cultures. The wedding will also be a blend of both cultures, as Ankita is from Assam and Milind is a Maharashtrian. They want to keep it simple and elegant. While the couple’s marriage is a private affair it is speculated that their reception might be in a foreign location, but confirmation of the same is yet to be made.
