The Bahujan Samaj Party Chief Mayawati has stated in her interview that Yogi Aditya Nath led BJP Government in Uttar Pradesh over adding ‘Ramji’ to the name of BR Ambedkar in all the official records.
Mayawati concluded that BJP is doing ‘DRAMA’ politics over the name of Ambedkar and is trying to attract Dalit votes through cheap publicity.
“Baba Saheb used to work for the Upliftment of the Dalits, whereas BJP to attract Dalit votes is doing Drama. Narendra Modi always believed as a spreader of promoting castism and religion issues, Dalit atrocities are at an all-time high. The newly found love for Dalits by Modi Government is a mere show off and nothing else,” she said.
Not only this, She added her statement “When they don’t write the full name of Gandhiji as Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi and full name of Narendra Modi as Narendra Damodar Das Modi, then what is the need to write the full name of Baba Saheb, it is not required,”.

This move has invited sharp criticism from the opposition, which has questioned the timing of the order and alleged that it was a “DRAMATIC” political decision. The order was issued by the principal secretary JITENDRA KUMAR of general administration department, who took cognizance of the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, in which Bhimrao Ambedkar’s name is written as Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.
Governor Ram Naik raised this issue last year. He pointed out that the signature by Ambedkar on the pages of the Constitution includes his full name and he should, therefore, be referred by his complete name. Not only this, Naik had even written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Adityanath to express his concerns.
And then the Ruling authorities implemented Orders to change the name of B R AMBEDKAR to Bhimrao “RAMJI” Ambedkar in all official documents.
If Mayawati is sure and the reason behind these changes are just to attract DALIT voters… Then let's see if it somehow alters the mentality of Dalit’s community which are major deciders of all elections.
