Iran president Hassan Rouhani visits India for 3-days

Iran President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Hyderabad on Thursday for a three-day visit to India.He had landed at the Begumpet Airport where Union Minister of state R K Singh welcomed him. It is Rouhani’s first visit to India after he was elected as Iran’s President in the year 2013. He reached Hyderabad and he was all set to visit a number of the places including the Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad's Qutub Shahi Tombs, Mecca Masjid as well as Golconda Fort.

1. Highlights of his Visit!

After offering Friday prayer at the historic Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad he also visited religious scholars from different schools. He left for New Delhi on Friday where formal bilateral talks take place.He spends two days in Hyderabad and on Friday night he arrived at New Delhi.He met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday Morning and examine a guard of honor at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.Hassan Rouhani also said that "We, in the Islamic Republic of Iran, believe that the people of Iran and India had friendly relations with each other. We had close cultural, economic and other relations with each other since the last many centuries."


PM Modi and Hassan Rouhani were at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Saturday where India and Iran signed nine agreements on Saturday enhancing mutual ties after PM Modi and Rouhani had talks.Key agreements were signed which are of areas related to security, energy, and trade as they deliberated on regional developments during their meeting. NSA chief Ajit Doval, Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale where also present at the Hyderabad House of Delhi.

Pm Modi also appreciated Rouhani for his leadership in developing strategies.


4. Iran-India Agreements

India and Iran had signed nine agreements and had kept their focus on Iran's Chabahar port.The India-Iran joint statement released and it says that “India will support the development of Chabahar- Zahedan Rail line,” that will lead to the transport of goods to the Afghan border and PM Modi had earlier also stated the joint statement as well as highlighted the importance of the Chabahar port by saying that it will help in increasing trade. There are The nine agreements that were signed between the two nation Iran and India and those agreements are stated as follows: MOU on Exemption of Visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders MOU on Establishment of Trade MOU on Co-operation on Agriculture MOU on Health MOU on Postal Co-operation Maritime Agreement Document on Shahid Beheshti port and on Chabahar Port. Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements Ratification of Extradition Treaty Co-operation on Medicine
