Govt. efforting to increase the size of farmers on E-NAM.

E-NAM National Agriculture Market was launched by PM Narendra Modi .This Portal is to connect e-mandis enabling farmers to get the fair and better price for their produce. 470 mandis in 14 states have been integrated with the eNAM platform, launched in April 2016 .

1. Key Points

It is pan India e trading platform designed to create national market for agriculture products. Farmers can trade their produce online from nearby market and traders quote prices from anywhere. 25 commodities including onion, potato, apple, wheat, pulses, coarse grains and cotton, have been identified for online trading. State governments have to amend their Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) Act to integrate online mandies at country level.


2. Plans and Targets!!

The government has set a target of linking total 585 mandis on the eNAM platform in the current fiscal. 72.12 lakh farmers, 53,130 commission agents and over 1 lakh traders are registered on the eNAM platform from 14 states via mobile app available in 6 languages. The eNAM has been strengthened with features like MIS dashboard, BHIM and other mobile payment facilities. Government is planning for more targets to be achieved.
