Cricketer Mohd. Shami Charged On Domestic Violence

Indian cricketer and pacer Mohammed Shami has been charged with an attempt to murder, the murder charges were put after a complaint was filed by his wife Hasin Jahan in Kolkata. 
Seven charges are put against the India pacer with one of them being attempt to murder by food poisoning and physical attack, a rape charge has also been put against Mohammed Shami's elder brother.


 Md Shami is now charged under section 498 A, 323, 307, 376, 506, 328, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Shami who has rubbished all his wife's allegations, is shocked after an FIR was lodged against the cricketer and he said that this is done by someone who is conspiring against him in order to ruin his reputation and career. Shami even mentioned that he is trying to call his wife Jahan and talk to her but she is not taking his calls though when he called his father in law he spoke to him very nicely. The cricketer added that he is hopeful of the matter getting sorted out very soon.

The FIR was registered against Shami and his four of his family members at Kolkata's Jadavpur police station under the above mentioned Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections, including section 498A the section that amounts to cruelty done to a woman by her husband or his family members and relatives.

Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan had alleged that the cricketer abused her physically and mentally and he also got involved in extra-marital affairs which harmed Jahan a lot mentally.

Another blow to the cricketer came in the form of BCCI with holding the pacer’s contract after the charges were put on the cricketer by his wife, the cricketer was found out of the 26 member annual contracts system.
