Vaginal Hacks: Control Odor

We women have so many problems which are specific for our kind only, we have a tough life. But we know how to deal with it, among the many issues we face, vaginal odour is a fairly common one.  Let me first clarify that all of us do have a natural smell and we cannot make our vagina smell like flowers or fruits, having a slight smell is acceptable even healthy. I am saying this because our body has a natural mechanism for cleaning our vagina and also the discharges are sometimes results of hormonal reactions which can occur at specific stages of our life, like menopause or before periods. The fluids work as lubricators and maintain the correct PH balance. But there are times when this smell thing increases and becomes an odour. Today here, I will share some ways which will help you keep the smell in check.

1. Clean Regularly

You must wash your vaginal section regularly while having a bath you can use mild soaps. Also, after urination, you must wash down there and if you find any kind of discharges, then you can use baby wipes to clean the outer sections. Another important thing which you must remember is that avoiding douche; this may cause the disruption of PH balance and removal of the good bacteria.


2. Underwear

Avoid fancy underwear like thongs or lace or satin for daily purposes these materials trap the air and may increase the growth bad bacteria and increase the chances of infection a chief symptom of which is a foul smell. Always use cotton undergarment, cotton helps the area to breathe, keeping it fresh.


3. Change

Be it underwear or tampons, one must change them at regular intervals. Using more than one panty, replacing tampon after 4 to 6 hours will help. Also, one mustn’t wear wet or soggy underwear, change after exercising or in case of increased discharges.


4. Go Commando

Sleeping without underwear is highly recommended, it helps in the air circulation. Also, you can wear longer clothes like long shirts or tops and avoid wearing any underwear if possible.  In the best possible case an scenario one is able to sleep naked, this will be a huge boost in confidence.


5. Eat Healthy

Having probiotic supplements daily or avoiding foods which are too much oil or have a strong smell is considered helpful Sometimes having foods which have smell may change the PH levels down there. One of the foods which are very tasty as well as healthy is yogurt.
